bring your work

Our programme is an exciting mix of new writing, lost gems from well-known writers, re-polished classics and innovatively staged musicals. We love BIG ideas and collaborate with every company to ensure a fantastic standard and a rewarding experience for all.

The Hope Theatre was the first Off West End venue to open with a house Equity agreement in place and, to this end, we support companies’ budgets by offering the space on a box office split with no hire charges. We programme runs of 3 & 4 weeks. • Devised work
  • Imaginative revivals of well-known plays or hidden gems from a well-known writer

  • Reduced price rehearsal space
  • Technician for your Get In
  • Trained Front of House staff

What Companies Say About Us

It’s been an absolute pleasure being at The Hope; such a professional and driven venue

The Hope was the perfect venue for us when it came to launching our debut production; the support offered was fantastic, and the financial model enabled us to create the work whilst also making sure that everyone involved was paid a fair wage. The friendliest theatre on the fringe!

Matthew and the team at The Hope inspire confidence and imagination: two invaluable things for a new playwright. Their experience, advice, and support provide the perfect environment for challenging, satisfying, and ultimately successful theatre.
Angela Clarke, award-winning playwright of THE LEGACY

It was an absolute pleasure to bring our production to The Hope Theatre, it is a wonderful space with an entirely unique atmosphere. The venue’s agreement with Equity is incredibly important for emerging companies and was a huge help to our experience in producing the show.
Abigail Pickard-Price of Kitehigh – BABY

Matthew and The Hope Theatre gave us the opportunity to showcase work that we really believed in. As we are an emergent company, this was only possible thanks to their commitment to Equity’s No Pay Low Pay initiative. We had excellent, structured support throughout our run, which meant we could concentrate on delivering quality theatre. After five star reviews and full houses, we now have a proven track record of success to build on.
Mark Jeary of New Room Theatre – BLACKOUT & THE WORST WAS THIS

We were lucky enough to have been Matthew’s inaugural show at the newly revamped Hope and we couldn’t have been better supported, even when we decided to cover the entire theatre in spray paint. It’s a fantastic, flexible space and we had a terrific time working alongside Matthew and the team. Great to see the place going from strength to strength and fab to see the production of “Lovesong” is transferring. Congrats all!!
