cuttings

4 - 22 June

YouTuber turned actor Arthur Moses wins an Olivier Award, and goes onto drunkenly deliver the most offensive, outrageous and profanity laden speech in the ceremony’s history.
His publicists have quite a morning ahead of them.
CUTTINGS is a satirical look at fandom, fame and being ‘sorry’ in the 21st Century.

the censor

25 Jun - 13 Jul

Female-led RoundPeg Theatre brings Anthony Neilson’s controversial play to London for the first time in 15 years. A female pornographer comes face to face with a censor – the man whose job it is to determine whether her work can see the light of day.

A tender, graphic exploration into sex, pleasure and taboo.

*a great big sigh*

7 & 8 July

The world outside is (probably) falling apart. Walter has no friends and Tina desperately wants to survive: nothing could possibly be spookier. In this riotous comedy we see these two strangers trapped with nothing but a few clues they must solve together in order to escape this flabbin’ heckin’ basement!

starved

16 July - 3 Aug

Lad and Lass are on the run. They’re squatting in a bedsit on one of Hull’s roughest estates and living hand to mouth on a diet of roll-ups, vodka and Cup-a-Soup. Caged by circumstance and warped by their own toxic relationship, will they ever be able to escape and survive?

river in the sky

6 - 24 Aug

Jack and Ellie wanted a family. Then one day, they lost their child and their reality changed forever. Whilst one hides in a caravan, the other visits them and together they tell each other magnificent stories. But will these stories spiral them further into grief or somehow bring them back?

blood orange

11 & 12 Aug

When fiercely independent female doctor Amy receives a case of a boy with cancer, it propels her back to her childhood and past traumas. She’s confronted by her loss and wants her career to provide the answer, but is it time to take a great leap and fight her demons?

it’s a playception

8 & 9 Sept

Elise and Sirenna have written a play! They have nabbed a great space! They have secured financial backing! They have written a marketing blurb!

They are still not taken seriously.

A play about two women writing a play about two women writing a play about two women writing a play.

call me fury

17 Sept - 5 Oct

“The fire of fear is the only flame that burns bright.”

CALL ME FURY is about The Salem Witch Trials. Sort of. A feral scream of rage, this play is a commentary about sexual politics and feminism today – set to live folk music.

Like a spell: a good spell.” Lyn Gardner
