Wine, turkey, laughter and dirty family history swept neatly under the carpet until Boxing Day. We join the world of Tracy, a day-dreaming housewife who is in the midst of cooking Christmas Dinner for her family - her large family. She is a proud mother who feels she is becoming surplus to requirements... except at Christmas.

Hope at Home is a 5-part online series of 15-minute monologues each exploring a single fascinating
slice of life, created by 25 artists commissioned by the theatre earlier this autumn. Each film
premieres via our digital channels culminating in our Christmas special. Each episode
will be available free for one week for PAY WHAT YOU CAN to encourage access and donations to help secure the future of the theatre and our reopening in 2021.

Clare Bloomer

Tracy

Clare trained at RADA and whilst there won the Lilian Baylis and the Verity Hudson Bursary Awards. Most recent credits include Margaret Thatcher in Maggie and Ted (White Bear), Gertrude in Hamlet (Iris Theatre), Shylock in The Merchant of Venice (Bedouin Shakespeare at Silvano Toti Globe Theatre Rome/Duke of York’s), and for the Hope Theatre she played Mary Countess of Pembroke in Foul Pages. Other theatre credits include work by Samuel Beckett, Noel Coward, Harvey Fierstein, Brian Friel, David Ives, David Mamet, Anthony Nielson, Peter Oswald, Tom Stoppard, Reza de Wet, Emma Whipday and Oscar Wilde.
