How many bad apples make an entire orchard rotten?
‘Sheepdog’ is an absurdist satire inspired by London’s Metropolitan Police Service and its
continuous inability to reform in the face of corruption.
Down at the station, everything is falling apart: a former inspector has recently been charged with
sexual assault; the entire institution is now under a microscope and, worst of all, higher ups are
threatening to introduce paid parking at work!
So, when Aubrey Mathers comes in to report a sexual assault that she has witnessed, the recently
promoted Inspector Warwick and his right-hand man, PC Caney, are dubious of her intentions.
Taking her statement, along with their younger colleague, PC June Chambers, it is soon discovered
that the missing victim is in fact Warwick’s beloved dog, Lesley.
With Lesley still missing, time is of the essence and the four must work together to find her and
uncover the culprits. However, not all is as it seems and Aubrey is not who she says she is. As a
huge game of cat and mouse ensues, it is revealed the women are in cahoots together as they
conspire to trick the men into confessing to their immoral behaviour, exposing just how deeply
ingrained corruption runs.
