EMBRACE

22nd - 24th January

7PM
£12/£10

Embrace is a time-jumping, genre-merging play about queer intimacy, survival, and the echoes of chosen family. In the present, Chris and Simon’s relationship is failing. They’ve got one last hope at saving it.

Kieron is trying to move on from his ex and in doing so has the course of his life changed in just one night.Tom lives at home with his single, hyper-masculine, tradesman dad. Tom’s finally coming to terms with his sexuality but trying to tell his dad is tearing him apart.

In 1981, Martin and his four hedonistic friends are partying their lives away, and the larger the dark cloud around them grows the more they drink. Choosing to live in a world that is constantly spinning and adorned with glitter.Back in the present Chris, Simon, Kieron, Tom, and Martin all end up in the same room, but how and why? They’ve all come here for one reason, or so they think. But as the night goes on, they realise that what they really want is something different. Something they’re all missing. Will they find what that is? Will they look beyond what seems obvious to them? Will they leave the same people that entered?
