A REHEARSED READING
How do you know when you’re meeting the most important person in your life?
Hannah Allen is spiky. Prickly. Cactus-like. She would get a dog, but she’s just given up her worldly goods in the name of adventure. Hannah Bee likes cats and true crime: suspicious. She’s been trying to keep the downstairs neighbour out of her business. Not easy. But when Hannah Bee accidentally opens a letter meant for Hannah Allen, a probability-defying friendship sparks.
With international backgrounds traversing the UK, US, and Aotearoa (NZ), Kayla Feldman and Lexi Clare draw from their experience in spoken word poetry and developing new musicals to create My Name Is Hannah: a curious story of friendship that explores how we form our sense of self in relation to others, the erosion of the natural world, and how we trust that anything in life will last.
This rehearsed reading is directed by Alice Fitzgerald and performed by Amanda Shodeko and Hannah May Jessop.
“Kayla [Feldman] makes it impossible for you not to laugh, and/or cry with them.” - Desree (poet and playwright)
“[Lexi Clare is] a force to be reckoned with and a welcome arrival on the British theatre scene." - BritishTheatre.com
