A REHEARSED READING

“Everyone gets replaced. And I’m next.”

Oliver is a living legend. Arrogant, temperamental, and undeniably brilliant, he is the enfant terrible of the ballet world, his ego only barely kept in check by his coach, Ed. But when Oliver’s partner is injured days before the opening night of the tragic ballet Giselle and replaced by Sasha, a rising star just out of school, Oliver is forced to confront the rapidly-approaching end of his career and the self-destructive behaviours he’s long tried to hide.

Arianna Muñoz is a Mexican-American writer/director. Her work includes IVY DAY, nominated for Best New Play at the Standing Ovation Awards, and MARY SHELLEY, a semifinalist for the Nicholl Fellowship (Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences). She is in the Autumn 2025 cohort of the Royal Court Theatre Writer’s Group.
