Shallow Resting Place explores the pain experienced when a relationship you thought would last forever, comes to an end. Exploring the addictive nature of nostalgia, the consequences of romanticising the people we love and not to mention, hares.
Three years ago, Sophia decided to leave. Now she returns, having graduated and outgrown her hometown. Charlie decided to stay; living with her mum and working as a barista in the centre of town. Set against the Oxfordshire prairies, Shallow Resting Place follows the reunion of these two exes as they retrace a familiar hike.
In 2023, Shallow Resting Place was programmed as part of OffBeat Festival, where it was performed as a work in progress at the Oxford Playhouse. This year, the play was commissioned by Everybody Panic as part of We‘ll Be Safe Here at the Pegasus Theatre.
