Pardis, a land-stricken girl, longs for the freedom echoed in the sea and to join the alluring song of Ayda, a mused mermaiden, who calls out to her from the lulling deep blue dream. In an exchange of fragmented swapped shells, the two meet in-between the cold coastal shoreline in attempts for Pardis to exchange her skin for aquatic scales and pretty fins. But their desires unravel in a question of flux as they try to find routes to escape conformed ways and distrusting waves, rising in tensions that may break them apart before they get a chance to depart.

This folkish queer verse play is a new mythopoetic exploration of identity and distant yearning under societal pressures, wants and regulations. With confessed discourse found in borders that provide momentary sanctuary against such prescribed boundaries. All journeyed through warnings and lessons made in mistakes that reach out from the generations before them. This piece promises to display a chanted lyrical eve as ‘Cunning Moss Productions’ kicks off its season of new peculiar poetic works.
