The Adventurers is a campy lesbian romcom set in 18th century Venice.

The story follows a crossdressing sailor who returns from sea determined to marry an aristocratic widow, only to have his plans thwarted when he meets a notorious libertine with a secret of his own.

Loosely based on the play La Prude by Voltaire and the memoir Histoire de ma vie by Giacomo Casanova.
