THE WAKE

"Well I just hope to God it can’t possibly get any fucking worse."

The Wake is a new one act play following the O’Donoghue family as they confront the loss of their mother.

We meet El who has returned home to a life they’ve long left behind, reverting to old ways and struggling to connect with this chosen ritual of grief. Caroline, with the newfound role of matriarch. Paddy, whose quiet nature prevents him from the connection he needs & David, who struggles to grasp his changed relationship with his children.

A dark, satirical play exploring the quintessentially Irish attitude towards death and loss.

There will also, of course, be loads and loads of sandwiches…
