Join us at The Hope Theatre for a transformative series of workshops and talks designed to unite and uplift working-class and queer individuals. This inclusive event aims to create a space where artists at all stages in their career from these vibrant communities can gather, fostering a platform for sharing experiences, fostering connections, and discovering new opportunities. No matter your level of expertise, these workshops offer a unique chance for individuals to come together, celebrate diversity, and empower each other through the joy of creative expression.

Sunday 17th & Monday 18th December, 7:45pm: Gangsta Baby: Hope Theatre takeover

Get ready for the Gangsta Baby team to takeover the Hope, led by Rikki Beadle-Blair and featuring an incredible lineup of speakers. You’ll have the pleasure of hearing from renowned individuals in the creative realm.

Confirmed speakers include:

  • Tom Ratcliffe, an award-winning playwright celebrated for his exceptional pieces like Velvet and Wreckage;
  • Tom Wright, the New Work Associate at the Kiln Theatre, recognized for his consecutive debut plays My Dad’s Gap Year at Park Theatre, Undetectable at King’s Head Theatre, and his recent success A Very Special Guest Star;
  • Riffy Ahmed, a BFI-featured, award-winning working-class director renowned for her notable works such as Medea and the anticipated The Call (2023).

This gathering promises a wealth of wisdom and creative inspiration from these accomplished individuals.
